With a name like Plainfield, you may not think our Chicago
suburb to be too exciting, but we at Enclave at 127th wouldn’t
choose to live anywhere else! Some people choose to live in the city with all the
hustle and bustle, fast-paced and always on the go. Here in Plainfield we like
to take things a little slower, though. We can always take that drive to
Chicago – or even closer to Naperville – for a day out or a night on the town,
but if you’re like us you’re probably more likely to spend your time hanging
out with your family or enjoying nature. There’s a reason Niche.com lists
Plainfield as the #1 place to live in Kendall County! Read on for some of our
top reasons to call Plainfield home!
The Outdoors
Even though we are fairly close to Chicago, in Plainfield
we have all the nature you could ever want (after all, field is in our name!).
Our Wheatland Community Park is a part of the larger Fox Valley Park District, serving
a few of our neighboring communities by maintaining a total of 168 parks with
48 miles of interconnected trails and 2,500 acres of parkland. You can also
relax along the banks of the DuPage River at the Riverview Farmstead Preserve,
or reserve a tee time at either Bolingbrook Golf Club or Naperbrook Golf
Course.
The Family
Plainfield is the perfect place to start and raise a
family, and in fact WalletHub listed us in their list of top 10 places to raise
a family in 2018. With just over 40,000 residents, we aren’t as large as some
of our neighboring Chicago burbs, but we’re also large enough to have several
highly ranked schools for students of all ages, including convenient access to
the Downers Grove campus for Midwestern University. Crime rates are pretty low,
and kids can get all the exercise and vitamin D they could ask for at the
aforementioned parks. If you’re looking for a place with a flourishing
nightlife or something to do every second of the day Plainfield may not be for
you, but if instead you’re looking for a more quiet city to settle down, plant
some roots, and possibly raise a family you should definitely look to move
here!
The Convenience
No matter what you’re needing, Plainfield most likely
offers it. We have some delicious dining options as well as several department
stores at Kensington Center. The average commute time in Plainfield is just
over half an hour, which mean you’ll be able to have a good work/life balance
rather than spending hours in your car every single day. With an unemployment
rate of only 3.3%, Plainfield proves to be a smart choice for professionals who
want that suburban life.
